DeAngelo Williams Got Into A Twitter War With A Restaurant Employee Due To A Horrible Tip

DeAngelo Williams seems like a good dude, but like many people, he gets set off by bad service in restaurants (well, that and participation ribbons, but that’s another story). Williams went to a restaurant in Maryland recently, and according to an employee who decided to air his grievances on Twitter, he left less than a dollar tip on a $128 bill.

Getting mad online is never good, but sticking up for a co-worker who got the short end of the stick like this is a worthwhile cause. Unfortunately for Johan, Williams didn’t leave a bad tip because he’s a jerk. Instead, it seems like Williams got objectively terrible service.

These all are fair grievances. If only one of these things happened and Williams essentially stiffed his server on a tip, that’s one thing. But for all of these things to happen in the same meal, a crappy tip seems somewhat justifiable. The restaurant worker tried to defend his co-worker by blaming the way that Williams ordered, but that got shot down pretty quickly, mostly because that’s a weird accusation.

Williams also clarified that he’s usually a pretty good tipper, but this was an exception because his service was so bad.

According to TMZ, the dude who called Williams out on Twitter got fired and the restaurant’s owner offered to pay for the Steelers’ running back’s next meal. While the server lost his job, we do have to give him props for sticking up for his co-worker. Plus he has a pretty good story to tell, which is always fun.
