If you’re a celebrity who isn’t Chelsea Handler and someone wants your opinion on Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt’s divorce, you’re supposed to respond with something like, “It’s a real shame,” or “love is dead,” or “How did George Clooney react?” Samuel L. Jackson isn’t “supposed to” do anything.
When the second highest grossing actor in U.S. history was asked by a Good Morning Britain reporter for his thoughts on Jolie and Pitt’s breakup, Jackson replied, “It’s life. You know, people carry on. People do what they do. There’s a huge segment of America that still thinks what he did to Jennifer Aniston was just wrong, and they’re just overjoyed that the Wicked Witch lost a husband, or whatever.” Looks like someone’s been watching Maleficent…
Jackson continued, “And I’m sure there’s another segment that thinks it is sad and it’s a dissolution of another family and all those kids or whatever, but I don’t know why it’s everybody’s business, or why people care anyway.” If this whole acting thing doesn’t work out for Jackson — he’s already been in Star Wars, Die Hard with a Vengeance, Jurassic Park, a bunch of Quentin Tarantino films, even more Marvel movies, and, of course, Johnny Suede (with Brad Pitt!); there’s nothing left for him, except, like, Avatar 5 — he should give gossip reporting a shot. “We just received word that this motherf*cker Leo DiCaprio left the f*cking club with another goddamn model, or whatever.”
He’s already really good at Game of Thrones commentary.
