Yeah, the Battle of the Bastards was okay, I guess. But the real top moment from Game of Thrones season six has to be Hodor holding the door. Not only did it pack a huge emotional punch, it launched an entire line of Hodor door stop products. Products that have now gotten so popular, everyone and their mom has one. Even Hodor actor Kristian Nairn’s mom!
The Game of Thrones actor has been keeping busy with his popular Rave of Thrones DJ series, and when he finally returned back to Belfast for a break, he discovered Hodor holding the door in his parents’ home. “Really, Mum???” he exclaimed on Instagram. “Et tu, Brute?”
We imagine seeing reminders of (spoiler alert!) your character’s death everywhere you go must kinda suck. On the plus side, ten golden stags says Nairn was sick of everyone yelling “HODOR!” at him non-stop. It may still be pretty continuous, but at least there’s a good amount of “Hold the door!” mixed in now as well. As they say, a change can be as good as a holiday. Another five years of it, though, and Nairn may have to join a catchphrase support group with people like Dave Chappelle and Matt LeBlanc.
