‘Rogue One: A Star Wars Story’ Easter Eggs And Things You May Have Missed In The Final Trailer

The final trailer for Rogue One: A Star Wars Story debuted Thursday morning, and it confirmed many things we’d heard about the story before, like Mads Mikkelsen playing the father of Jyn Erso (Felicity Jones), a father who owed his family’s lives to Director Orson Krennic (Ben Mendelsohn) and helped him design the Death Star as a repayment, only to regret the decision and try to help the Rebellion. That’s Director Krennic there witnessing a VADER STRUT:

The new trailer was packed with cool moments and little details, rounded up in the video above by Mr. Sunday Movies, who has also done breakdowns like this regarding the first Rogue One teaser, Rogue One‘s Star Wars Celebration reel, and the previous trailer.

The video delves into speculation about all sorts of things, like this land formation which appears to be the “first” (or not) Jedi Temple, located on Jedha, a planet especially important because it’s rich with the crystals used in lightsabers and the Death Star.

The video also looks ahead towards the other Star Wars spin-offs besides Rogue One. I like the theory about them using the spin-offs for a variety of genre pieces, with Rogue One being a war movie, the Han Solo solo movie being a western, and the third film possibly being more spiritual and Jedi-focused, with rumors of either a Yoda movie or an Obi-Wan spinoff starring Ewan McGregor. I’m totally here for an Obi-Wan spin-off, and McGregor himself seems to be interested.

In an interview with French magazine Premiere (translated by Den Of Geek), McGregor said, “It would be fun to film that story now I’m older. I’d be the right age. I’m forty-five, Alec Guinness was what, sixty? I could do two of them!”

Two of them? Be still, my heart. The first one could be his battle with the Imperial Beekat and the second could be The Search For Missing F*cks:
