With the game tied at 91-91 in the final seconds of regulation, Rudy Gay had a chance to give the Kings a much-needed win over the Heat on Tuesday night, but that didn’t exactly work out as planned. After going one-on-one against Justise Winslow, Gay got a pretty good look at a step-back three, but missed everything entirely. The Kings would go on to lose 108-96 in overtime.
Gay shouldn’t feel too bad, though. Even LeBron James hurls up an air-ball from time to time, like he did earlier in the evening against the Rockets, on a free throw, no less. Despite the outcome, Gay had a solid night overall with 30 points and 12 rebounds, while shooting 50 percent from downtown and 45 percent from the field.
