Wendell ‘The Bunk’ Pierce Tried To Make A ‘Wire’ Prequel Starring Samuel L. Jackson

Wendell “The Bunk” Pierce may have a big-ass dick, but even he, the humblest of motherf*ckers, doesn’t have enough clout to convince The Wire creator David Simon to make a prequel to the HBO series. EVEN if it’s basically The Wire Babies (“we’ll make our dream of a drug empire come true”), starring none other than Samuel L. Jackson.

Through a series of Twitter posts, Pierce, who played detective Bunk Moreland on the show, described a film prequel that he “tried to produce” but couldn’t obtain a greenlight for. In it, Pierce says, he had “Samuel L. Jackson playing the kingpin running the Towers, when Stringer & Barksdale started a war and took over.”

One of the main conflicts of the show had to do with Avon Barksdale (Wood Harris) running his operation out of the [Franklin Terrace] Towers, alongside his childhood friend and partner Stringer Bell (Idris Elba) — two domineering presences that Jackson would likely match and more. (Via)

Not that this should happen, but just think of all the magnificent “fuck”s we’re being deprived of.

F*ck.
