Mudhoney never broke as big as that OTHER Seattle grunge-punk Sub Pop band — they were far too abrasive and menacing for mainstream success — but their influence was felt all over Washington, and the country. Earlier this year, they released an excellent new album, Vanishing Point, and last night, the superfuzzers made their first TV appearance in 18 years, on, of course, Late Night with Jimmy Fallon, the home of musical outcasts.
