Season four of The Walking Dead is set to return this October, and what we do know is that there will be a new showrunner in Scott Gimple — who wrote a few of the best episodes of season three — and that, according to exec producer Greg Nicotero, the zombie horde will take center stage again. As he tells EW: “The first episode, we had days where there were 150 walkers.” Nicotero should know: In addition to being the special effects supervisor on the show, he’s also played a walker four times already.
Speaking of EW, they also have three different covers for their forthcoming The Walking Dead issue, featuring Rick Grimes, Daryl Dixon and a Carl Grimes that is clearly going through a bad case of the Savage syndrome. I think it’ll work for him, though, since his character was seen at the early stages of CRAZY KOOKOO BANANAS at the end of season three.
Here are the covers.
