If you decide to click play on the trailer below, I understand the inclination. You’re doing it for the same reason that I did: Morbid curiosity. It’s nothing to be proud of, but there’s no reason to be ashamed, either. The game is rigged against us, because we are naturally curious people, and when you hear that there is a documentary about a man with 132 pounds of testicle, you’re going to want to see what that looks like.
But here’s the catch: It’s kind of heartbreaking. It’s a British documentary crew that has put the one-hour special together, and they’ve done a bang-up job — at least judging by the preview — of not unnecessarily sensationalizing it, beyond the fact that a large man is walking around with 132 POUNDS OF TESTICLE. It is, in fact, kind of tearjerking, and I hope to God the poor Las Vegas resident gets his junk fixed.
However, it’s paragraphs like this one, from EW, that make you want to look away:
Notes a professor of urology, Dr. Joel Gelman: “The main specimen, after surgery, was 132 lbs, but we can’t accurately predict its total weight. With an additional specimen, tissue and cell fluid not taken into overall consideration, the starting weight could have been over 160 lbs.
But, come on: 132 pounds of scrotum, people. It grows at a rate of 3 pounds a month! How can you not at least give it a glimpse, you sick bastards?
