From nightclubs to burger joints to candy shops — 2016’s most Instagrammed restaurants really ran the gamut. Of the ten, four are located in California and six are in New York City. Both are obviously popular tourist destinations, but let’s hope other areas of the country to get in on the action next year.

I’m looking at you Chicago (with those blissful Au Cheval burgers)!

10. Perch, Los Angeles, CA

There’s a reason you’ll find photos of Perch all over Instagram. Like many restaurants in Los Angeles, Perch has a rooftop space — with views overlooking the city. But, it’s also a French Bistro with photo-worthy food and drinks.

9. La Marina, NYC

This massive restaurant bar and lounge definitely earned it’s spot on this list. At 75,000 square feet, La Marina is a looming presence of revelry on the Hudson River Waterfront in Upper Manhattan — the place to be seen (with drink in hand) in New York in the summer.

8. LAVO, NYC

Lavo is an Italian restaurant by day and a night club in the evening. You can find patrons snapping photos of their truffle gnocchi during dinner and adding video of their best dance moves to their Insta-stories by night.

7. San Pedro Fish Market and Restaurant, San Pedro, CA

This destination scores high marks for their seafood. The San Pedro Fish Market and Restaurant touts itself as the home of “The World Famous Shrimp Tray”. Guess what? People love taking pictures of said tray as well as all of the other items on the menu.

6. Bottega Louie Restaurant and Gourmet Market (aka Bottega Louie), Los Angeles, CA

Bottega Louie made the list because it’s the kind of place you can’t go into without snapping a few pictures. It doesn’t matter whether you are taking a photo of one of their exquisitely made macarons in the Patisserie or one of their beautifully crafted cocktails in the bar.

Real talk: entering Bottega Louie is like stepping into a museum of food.

5. Black Tap Craft Burgers & Beer, Meatpacking District, NYC

Let’s face it, people love to take picture of burgers. Especially really well-made, cheese oozing out of them, burgers. The real draw at Black Tap, though, is the giant, loaded milkshakes.

4. Katz’s Delicatessen, NYC

Katz’s is an institution in New York City. Instagrammers have (literally) been eating it up. Where else can you snap a picture of a giant, mouth-watering pastrami sandwich?

3. TAO Downtown, NYC

This eatery and nightclub is a great spot get some amazing pan-asian food. It’s also the only place in the city where you can snap a picture of yourself in front on a giant, Buddha statue. On top of that, the cocktails are works of art themselves.

2. Nobu Malibu, Malibu, CA

It’s not surprising that Nobu Malibu made the list. Located in Malibu on the Pacific Coast Highway, the west-coast version of this famed restaurant features Japanese fare as well California favorites. The sushi alone is enough to put this restaurant on any Insta-hit list.

Located in New York’s Meatpacking District, the Sugar Factory is exactly what it seems. It’s a wonderland of candy, desserts and drinks. The giant goblets are the focus of many Instagram photos. And deservedly so!
