Bryan Cranston Nearly Smacked Tony Parker’s Butt To Win A $100 Bet From M. Night Shyamalan

Larry Crowne star Bryan Cranston was courtside for Wednesday night’s tilt between the San Antonio Spurs and Philadelphia 76ers at Wells Fargo Center. Cranston, who played Martin Rutgers on a 1998 episode of Diagnosis Murder, came face-to-butt with the backside of Spurs guard Tony Parker before an inbound play and, yes, Cranston thought about it.

He pulled his hand back, readied it for contact, but opted against spanking the future Hall of Famer. Cranston, who was unforgettable in his role as Witch Lawyer during a 1997 episode of Sabrina The Teenage Witch, showed more restraint than Academy Award winner Morgan Freeman at an Ole Miss game last week.

Considering you can be ejected for yelling at people at some NBA games, the Murder She Wrote actor probably made the right call.

The truly frightening thing here — Cranston was sitting with M. Night Shyamalan, director of The Village and The Happening. Shyamalan is from Philadelphia and shoots a lot of his movies there, and with Cranston sitting next to him, does this mean Cranston is working with him? Poor guy. Was the butt slap a ploy to get arrested and have his career ruined so he wouldn’t have to star in a movie where the big twist is plants are murdering people?

Nah, just a bet that I assume Cranston lost. Or maybe the big twist was Parker … doesn’t have a butt. Or Parker’s butt is the perfect opposite of Cranston’s butt and the butts need each other to exist. Or the butt was dead the whole time and we figured it out like three seconds into the clip.
