Don Rickles Heckles Zach Galifianakis And Amy Poehler In His Final Series

Before his unfortunate death from from kidney failure, legendary insult comedian Don Rickles filmed a 10-episode series for AARP called Dinner with Don. It’s like Jerry Seinfeld’s Comedians in Cars Getting Coffee, except the comedians aren’t in cars getting coffee; they’re eating food in some of Rickles’ favorite restaurants around Los Angeles. Also, Seinfeld never made Zach Galifianakis call him “God.” Other special guests include Billy Crystal, Robert De Niro, Jimmy Kimmel, Amy Poehler, Vince Vaughn, Marisa Tomei, Martin Scorsese, and Paul Rudd, who, after spending time with Rickles, concedes, “I’m just going to start insulting myself to beat you to the punch.”

“All of us at AARP Studios are immensely saddened with the passing of Don Rickles,” said AARP Studio vice president Jeffrey Eagle in a statement. “We had the distinct pleasure of recently working with Don on our upcoming series Dinner with Don. Don was known for his biting, acerbic humor and we feel lucky enough to have experienced that first-hand. He was also a thoughtful, kind and generous colleague and friend. Don continued to make audiences laugh throughout his life and career and his legacy will live on.”

All 10 episodes of Dinner with Don were completed before Rickles’ death, but there’s no release date yet. C’mon Netflix, we know you want to.
