Picture it. A boxing icon and UFC firebrand sharing the same space for a megafight. Oh, also Floyd Mayweather and Conor McGregor would be there too. That’s right, we’re talking MULTIBUFFER TIME!
The forever hyped and glacially moving (potential) boxing match between the undefeated Mayweather and Irish style icon McGregor has a potential starting point for including both Bruce and Michael Buffer in the mix. For some of us dinguses (yo!), this idea is more exciting than the fight itself. TMZ Sports spoke with UFC announcer extraordinaire Bruce Buffer while doing their standard “let’s see who’s at the airport” thing and Bruce indicated he’s game on possibly calling the superfight with his boxing announcer bro Michael.
“Well, depending who’s promoting this pay-per-view, is it Showtime? Is it UFC? I mean, who are the powers that be calling the shots? Then we’ll see,” said Buffer in his more sedate non-Octagon voice. “I mean, I would love to announce with my brother, Michael Buffer. That would just be an incredible thing to do and we’d have a blast working together.”
Just like the Mayweather vs. McGregor tilt itself, Bruce is putting this prospect in the “we’ll see” category.
“Just like this fight, there’s a chance for everything,” noted the UFC staple. “If you wanted to ask me if I’d like to do it? Of course I would, why wouldn’t I?”
Keep in mind, though. Michael Buffer may be intimidated by the hallowed Buffer 360. Why wouldn’t you be?
