Fresh off the release of two back-to-back No. 1 albums, Future is riding high in 2017. That wave just got a little higher when his often collaborator Drake showed up to grace Future’s Coachella set with his presence. Given the two already put out an entire collaborative effort together — the stunning What A Time To Be Alive — and went on tour together for the Summer Sixteen tour for weeks last year, it’s not a huge surprise that Drizzy would make a guest appearance. Ty Dolla Sign and Migos showed up as well.

Of course, Drake is riding his own wave at the moment following the release of his massively successful “playlist” aka new album More Life. That record has smashed some streaming numbers a couple times over, and boosted Drake into even more of an international pop star role, further setting him apart from his hip-hop peers. In fact, a lot of the rap world was reticent that More Life contained such a diasporic influence, but Drake as a global curator has been fascinating to watch so far.

When Beyonce had to bow out of Coachella, initially I thought Drake might’ve been a good replacement for her given he was just finishing up his tour in the UK — but Lady Gaga later tonight will be great too. Sure, Drake is a great guest of honor to have, but Cam Newton showing up to watch the set was a pretty clutch celeb to have in attendance as well. Check out fan clips and reactions to the guests below and watch the performance on the livestream right here.
