Kevin Durant’s New KD 10 ‘Finals’ Colorway Sends A Clear Message To His Haters

Kevin Durant has proved time and time again that no slight is too small to slip by without him noticing and giving some back in return. Heck, he even took time out of the Warriors’ championship day parade to trade shots with a Twitter troll. To be fair, he’s had to withstand a relentless barrage of criticism for joining the Warriors after they beat Oklahoma City in the playoffs in 2016.

But rather than just ignoring all the noise, Durant regularly feels compelled to fire back, and a big part of it seems to be his way of keeping himself motivated psychologically.

So it shouldn’t be much of a surprise that his new signature shoe, the KD 10 “Finals,” takes aim at his detractors.

Printed on each sole is just about every insult you can think of that’s been hurled at Durant the past year, but plastered over the top of those are the Warriors’ historic 16-1 record in the playoffs, his mind-boggling stat lines for each of the five Finals games, and the unassailable fact that he was the Finals MVP of the 2017 championship team.

However you tend to feel about Durant’s defection from OKC, it’s hard to argue with the results, and that’s clearly the overarching message on his latest shoe. Yet rather than silence his critics, his ongoing defensiveness might only alienate them even more.

This also isn’t even the first time he’s made headlines involving sneakers this week. After making dismissive comments about Under Armour — the rival shoe company that boasts his teammate Steph Curry as its number one endorser — Durant had to sit down with Curry and hash things out.

Still, it’s a pretty hot sneaker that’s bound to make a splash.
