The Hawks Unveiled A New Court And Throwback Uniforms For Their 50th Anniversary Season

Atlanta Hawks

The Charlotte Hornets and Orlando Magic are both celebrating their 30th anniversary seasons this year, and as such have gotten some great throwback looks for the 2018-19 season.

Those two teams aren’t the only Southeast division squads celebrating a milestone year, as the Atlanta Hawks are entering their 50th season in Atlanta and will also be bringing back some retro looks for their anniversary. To start, the Hawks will be getting retro blue and red Hardwood Classic uniforms that call back to that 1968 season, as modeled by John Collins at an event on Wednesday night.

The blue and red uniform isn’t the most celebrated Hawks throwback, or probably in most fans top three, as the 70s blue and green, early 90s red, white, and yellow, and late 90s black and red (with the giant Hawk) are their most notable. Still, it’s a pretty crisp update on the classic look and powder blue is always welcome in this house.

Along with the throwback unis, the Hawks are introducing a special court for their 50th anniversary that is black, white, and gold, to go along with their standard court.

It’s a clean look and, as the Hawks tweet mentions, they will be getting special uniforms to go along with the court at a later date. One would expect black and white uniforms with gold trim, but we’ll have to wait for the official announcement to know specifics.
