The Mike Conley era in Memphis has finally come to an end. Following months of speculation regarding the future of the Grizzlies’ longtime point guard, Shams Charania of The Athletic reports that Memphis will send Conley to a team that has been linked to him for some time, the Utah Jazz.

In exchange, the Grizzlies will get back a pair of veterans, Jae Crowder and Kyle Korver, former first-round pick Grayson Allen, and a pair of future first-round draft selections. Adrian Wojnarowski reports that the collection of picks includes the 23rd selection in Thursday’s 2019 NBA Draft and a 2020 protected first.

The protections on the 2020 pick make it most likely to convey in 2022.
Per league source, the 2020 pick the Grizzlies are getting in Conley trade has the following protections:
2020 1-7, 15-30 (conveys 8-14)
2021 – same as above
2022 – 1-6
2023 1-3
2024 – 1

Utah has been interested in Conley for some time — they were reportedly interested in acquiring him back at the trade deadline, but that did not come to fruition. Rumors picked back up in recent days that a trade was being discussed, and now, the Conley era in Memphis has reached its conclusion.
For the Grizzlies, it’s a bittersweet moment, as Conley is one of the greatest players in franchise history. This does, however, clear a path for presumed No. 2 pick Ja Morant to take over at point guard from day one while giving the team to stock up on draft picks going forward. And for the Jazz, this is a home run trade. Conley, when healthy, is among the best in the game and projects to be an outstanding fit next to Donovan Mitchell in Utah’s backcourt.
