Look, there’s no way Matthew McConaughey’s new Lincoln commercials can be improved upon. They are peak McConaughey, worthy of earning him at least two legs of the EGOT he so richly deserves.
But last night on Conan, Conan O’Brien gave it a shot by sprinkling the ads with some nihilistic dialogue from True Detective‘s Rust Cohle, and the result is pretty fantastic. If you ran out and bought a Lincoln thanks to the original ads, this updated version will have you driving it off a cliff in no time.
