It’s no secret that the New York Jets are a dumpster fire this season. It’s to the point where additional misery and b*tching aren’t necessarily superfluous, they’re just sucked into the void that is the Jets hellscape right now.
So let’s highlight that ‘Game of Thrones’ creator George R.R. Martin, a Bayonne, N.J., native, shared his own lugubrious take on New York’s other professional football team before it gets lost to Google’s search engine–because George R.R. Martin is apparently a Jets fan.
The New York Post highlighted Martin’s response to a question he received at a panel at New York’s 92nd Street Y the other night:
When the fantasy author was asked at a 92nd Street Y panel Sunday in which land, magical or otherwise, he’d most like to live, he replied: “I think I’d live in Santa Fe [his current hometown], where they have the NFL every Sunday [on TV].”
He’d attended the Jets’ loss to the Bills earlier and sighed, “Though after the way the Jets played today, I might have to give that up.”
NJ.com’s Jets beat reporter Dom Cosentino also highlighted a post from Martin’s personal blog last year entitled “Jets Crash Again,” so Martin appears to be a bonafide Jets sufferer.
No word yet about whether or not the rest of the Jets season will influence the events in the next ‘Game of Throne’ season.
