The Arizona Cardinals won their 11th game on Thursday night, beating the “red hot” St. Louis Rams 12-6 in a scorcher of an NFL game that I’m sure you all watched. Despite having to scrape the bottom of the league’s QB barrel and go with Ryan Lindley after an injury to Drew Stanton, the team still managed to improve to 11-3 on the season and are clearly in the driver’s seat with a 1.5 game lead over Seattle in the NFC West. They can lock things up with a victory over the defending champs next week. After the game, coach Bruce Arians had a few things to say about a perceived lack of respect his team was getting considering they currently sit in 1st place while their opponent has had a recent history of mediocrity.
“I love it when nobody says you have a chance to win. There is an 11-3 team and a team that is always 8-8. You figure it out.”
It’s too bad these teams don’t play each other again, because I’m no expert in fightin’ words, but I’m pretty sure that qualifies. But he wasn’t done.
“Everybody wanted to talk all that stuff about how great their defense is. I think they saw a good defense tonight, it was in red and white. We blocked them. I think they had been reading their press clippings way too much.”
Anyone know if Bruce Arians has a newsletter I can subscribe to?
