It was just the other day that we were reading about Rob Gronkowski’s debut in erotica with A Gronking To Remember. We devoured its pages, hanging on every scandalous word, and we blown away when Gilbert Gottfried decided to read it for TMZ. It was a glorious time.
Sadly that time is over. Amazon has removed the book from their digital shelves, silencing author Lacey Noonan and her foray into NFL themed erotic storytelling. Why? Well according to the The Boston Globe, someone objected to the cover of the novella:
In an e-mail, author Lacey Noonan told us she hadn’t anticipated any problem with the Gronk picture. “I didn’t understand at the outset that Robert Kraft wouldn’t want Myra Kraft and her philanthropical works associated with this,” Noonan said in the e-mail. “Total newbie ignorance on my part. I believe — and hope — that’s the only problem anyone has with the book since it is such obvious satire and parody” An NFL source said Thursday that the league keeps tight control over the use of uniforms and logos, and no doubt would object to the use of the Patriots uniform (and “MHK” patch) without permission.
Well I would say that’s a pretty good reason. I don’t see why it couldn’t see a re-release with a different look to it. I mean there are numerous options out there that don’t even sniff anything the NFL is doing. Throw Gronk and his porn star friends from Twitter on a cover and rake in some of that dough.
There will always be the memories, hitching their way “up and down the Gronkachusetts Turnpike.” Pour one out, folks.
