The Seattle Seahawks reached a great and covetous place yesterday when they beat the Green Bay Packers to win the NFC Championship and earn their second straight trip to the Super Bowl.

Following the game, the Seahawks’ Twitter account came alive with the electricity of celebration, including pictures of dude-hugs, celebrity congratulations from Mario Batali and Robinson Cano, cliched football jargon, and…

A Martin Luther King quote about faith that was pasted over a picture of Seahawks quarterback Russell Wilson on Martin Luther King Day?

Unsurprisingly, that quickly deleted tweet wasn’t deleted fast enough to evade attention, with the reaction prompting the Seahawks to issue an apology tweet.

So, all settled? I’m not really sure. Right now, the majority of the responses on twitter seem to be battling to decide if the initial tweet was offensive, and the Seahawks posted a round-up of quotes about Sunday’s big win 16 minutes after their apology tweet, so I guess they’ve moved on.
