At this point, it’s safe to say every actor will be in a zombie movie. There are simply so many of them that only the most dignified can escape their clutches. But as zombie movies go, Stanley Tucci appears to have chosen a pretty interesting one with Patient Zero.
There’s a super-strain of rabies… wait, come back, there is an actual twist to this idea. The people with the rabies are still intelligent, they’re just really violent and angry. And Tucci has a pretty interesting job here, according to Deadline:
Tucci plays a deliciously evil role: a professor who becomes infected, and highly violent. He becomes determined to crash the lab that’s working on a cure and thwart the search for Patient Zero.
So basically he’s in the role he typically gets, except he turns into an infected Bond villain. That’s pretty intriguing, and honestly, a bunch of intelligent people storming the gates like a bunch of out-of-shape Vikings sounds like a lot of fun. At the very least it’ll be better than yet another “zombies on a conveyance, in a specific building, or fighting another horror trope” movie. That’s a low bar to clear, but at least they’re trying.
