Iain Heath usually works in LEGO for The Brothers Brick, but he decided to apply his building skills to recreating the robot TARS from Interstellar. You know, this surprisingly likable, 90% honest robot:
Heath says it took him 100 hours over the course of 3 months to build his TARS costume for last month’s Emerald City Comic Con in Seattle, where it received a “One To Watch” award. This TARS weighs 40 pounds and uses two iPads as its computer displays. It also has an audio system he can talk through and play sound effects (perhaps a cue light to show when he’s joking?), as well as a camera/monitor system so he can see where he’s going.
TARS hasn’t quite figured out escalators yet, however…
