Shortly after the video of Chris Evans and Jeremy Renner jokingly calling Black Widow a “slut” and “whore” went viral (what a weird way to begin a sentence), the two Avengers stars released a statement apologizing for what they said. Only one seems like he meant it, though.

“Yesterday we were asked about the rumors that Black Widow wanted to be in a relationship with both Hawkeye and Captain America,” Evans said in a statement provided to EW. “We answered in a very juvenile and offensive way that rightfully angered some fans. I regret it and sincerely apologize.”
“I am sorry that this tasteless joke about a fictional character offended anyone,” Renner also said in a statement provided to EW. “It was not meant to be serious in any way. Just poking fun during an exhausting and tedious press tour.” (Via)
Renner comes across like a 13-year-old boy whose mom is making him apologize through gritted teeth, when all he wants to do is make boob jokes. We should’ve known he was up to no good.
