The Birther conspiracy theory is back, which is rather unbelievable, seeing as President Obama’s running down the home stretch of his two presidential terms. Yet here we are, in 2016, still hearing people question whether Obama was actually born in Hawaii. Thanks to the Trump campaign’s resurrection of the issue, the press actually approached Obama in the Oval Office when he was discussing a trade deal with Asia. Obama can’t believe it’s come to this, and his reaction is pretty great.
When asked how he felt about Donald Trump pushing the Birther business, the president responded, “I have no reaction, and I’m shocked that a question like this would come up at a time when we’ve got so many other things to do.” Then he got real and told reporters how he really felt: “Well, I’m not that shocked, and it’s fairly typical.” Obama then stressed that he has other matters to deal with, and “I was pretty confident about where I was born.” As it turns out, he’s still feeling good about his status as a U.S. citizen.
Dismissed! *snap snap*
On this Friday morning, the Republican nominee is tipped to deliver his final (?) thoughts on Obama’s birth certificate today. Amazing.
