Cleveland Cavaliers reserve Dahntay Jones already made headlines against the Toronto Raptors for taunting his way to losing 66 percent of his salary. Now he’s making up for that loss by stealing playoff shirts off seats in the front row.
Jones was caught on camera snagging a giveaway shirt off a seat at Air Canada Centre Friday before the Cavs took on the Raptors in Game 3 of the Eastern Conference semifinals.

According to Richard Jefferson‘s Snapchat, Jones did the same thing last season when the Cavs played the Raptors. It’s not clear whether he got it before Game 3, 4 or 6 of that series, which would matter if he’s superstitious—Cleveland lost the first two but closed out the series in a Game 6 win.
Jones is all about repeating old habits against Toronto, so this makes sense. It’s the second year in a row he’s gotten fined most of his salary for causing a stir in a game, so why not get a shirt to round things out? It would have been nice, however, if the shirts were a bit more creative than just a big red maple leaf on the back with a small Raptors logo on the front.

“We The North” is such a good playoff slogan. A shirt with that on it would have been worth keeping. Either way, I hope the Raptors had an extra shirt to put on that seat; otherwise, for once, a fan sitting in the upper deck would have an advantage over a courtside seat: a free shirt.
