David West is not the best player on the Golden State Warriors by any stretch and, frankly, the team that employs Stephen Curry, Kevin Durant, Klay Thompson and Draymond Green probably doesn’t “need” the veteran big man to win an NBA championship. Still, West is a beloved figure around the NBA for what he brings on and off the floor and the Warriors are better off with him on the roster than without.
That, combined with his tough guy persona, makes for an entertaining mix and West quickly became a meme during Game 4 of the Western Conference Finals against the San Antonio Spurs. The internet thoroughly enjoyed West’s reaction and the facial gesture that he put forward, to the point where Amin Elhassan of ESPN received dozens of brilliant meme attempts.

Even Marcus Thompson, who famously wrote a book on Stephen Curry, managed to work in a plug in association with West’s image.

Things like this are what make the NBA fantastic and, when the memes are flowing, the entertainment is off the charts.
