During his tenure as Knicks president, Phil Jackson has hired Derek Fisher as head coach, awarded Lamar Odom a roster spot, and un-ironically given Sasha Vujacic considerable playing time on an actual NBA team. But the Hall of Fame coach’s heretofore generous nepotism may have finally found its limits, because no amount of twisted logic could justify hiring Dennis Rodman for the newly-vacant Knicks’ coaching job, regardless of how badly everyone residing outside of the New York City metropolitan area would love to see this happen.
Hey @PhilJackson11 @nyknicks, I have a pretty decent resume on the court and I can coach; and I'm available. Call me. @nba

It would be almost as crazy as one of Metta World Peace’s former teams bringing him back to “mentor” their young players. For starters, Jackson would have to allow for significant leeway regarding the dress code, given Rodman’s colorful history of sartorial experimentation. The team-wide policy on punctuality is something else that would probably get to bent almost to its breaking point. And then there’s the matter of an open-ended skybox reservation for a certain stubby, cheese-guzzling dictator (and subsequent spur-of-the-moment trips to accompany said dictator back to his embattled homeland for the occasional goodwill tour).
Sadly, this is one of those beautiful dreams that will have to remain just that, although Jackson could probably just name him the franchise’s unofficial ambassador to North Korea and just allow things to proceed as usual.
