If the Utah Jazz make good on their late-season success to emerge as a playoff contender next season, they’ll make a habit of winning ugly. This team isn’t built to score points in hordes, but instead dominate on the other end while managing solid, deliberate offense. After all, Utah’s 91.1 defensive efficiency since trading Enes Kanter leads the league by a wide margin.
But that doesn’t mean Quin Snyder will tolerate ineptitude like this from Joe Ingles. Maybe the Australian rookie thought he was throwing a lob to 7-2 Rudy Gobert instead of undersized power forward Trevor Booker? That seems to be the only logical explanation here.
At least Ingles has made up for this mind-boggling pass elsewhere. The 27 year-old has a game-high 16 points at intermission, spurring the Jazz to a 48-42 lead over the Minnesota Timberwolves.
