Kristaps Porzingis Came Across The Hoop To Deliver A Brutal Block On Shabazz Muhammad

Minnesota Timberwolves forward Shabazz Muhammad thought he was getting an easy dunk when Gorgi Dieng caught him with a pass as he streaked to the hoop. But he forgot about Kristaps Porzingis.

The New York Knicks forward somehow went from one side of the hoop to the other to deny Muhammad the dunk with a thunderous block that got the Knicks broadcast crew all riled up.

That’s always one of my favorite moments in a sports broadcast—something happens while the play-by-play or color person is explaining an anecdote or something not related to play. Then the play develops and you can hear the wheels turning in their head: this is a Thing I Need To Talk About. But as their voice raises and the play continues, something even more amazing than expected happens and the announcer freaks the hell out.

That amazing thing, as it so often has been this season for the New York Knicks this year, was Kristaps Porzingis.
