Kristaps Porzingis Got Burned By A Model When He Tried To Flirt On Instagram

It’s tough to criticize Kristaps Porzingis for shooting his shot, but maybe he should stick to just taking those shots on the court.

The New York Knicks forward caught some hell on Thursday when he unsuccessfully tried to flirt with a Croatian Instagram model. Kristaps threw a loving emoji on a photo posted by Ines Nikić on Thursday. A month after a mysterious Los Angeles Clippers tweet sparked rumors of a trade that have yet to happen, Porzingis was burned again by taking a shot at love.

Porzingis had the fourth comment on a beach photo Nikić posted on Wednesday, but was quickly reminded by a commenter that she was born in 1999, so she’s either 17 or 18 years old. Porzingis, for the record, is 21.

A simple like would have probably sufficed here, my dude. The comments of the photo are now filled with heart-eyes emojis from other people, probably to mock Porzingis and his initial comment. It’s sad, really, that true love is often met with mockery in this modern age.

Nikić herself responded soon after, posting a photo of her kissing someone, presumably her boyfriend. Either way, it was definitely not Kristaps Porzingis.

The caption here, translated to the King’s English, is “Are you sleeping peacefully at night, Kristaps Porzingis?” Yikes.

He’s not the first NBA player to ever get shut down on Instagram. It’s yet more proof that this digital world is fraught with pitfalls, even for thirsty NBA players. Hopefully Porzingis can keep his head high like Joel Embiid after his many social media exploits.
