EA Sports’ NBA 2K16 will have three separate covers featuring stars James Harden, Steph Curry and Anthony Davis. The game will hit shelves on September 29 and is available for pre-order to get it four days early.
The game was also directed by renowned filmmaker Spike Lee. The NBA 2K franchise has used celebrity collaborators before: NBA 2K13 featured Jay Z as an executive producer in 2013. Spokesman Ryan Peters told USA Today that Lee’s role was to add an actual storyline to the game.
“We just told Spike, ‘You transform the narrative, and we’ll change that into digital polygons.’ And he did that, bringing a protagonist and antagonist to the story.”
