The Dallas Mavericks have been playing pretty well as of late, winning four straight games to close out 2015. However, on Friday the Mavs’ hot shooting came to a screeching halt as they were blown out 106-82 in Miami while shooting only 36 percent from the field and 22 percent from beyond the arc.
When asked by reporters about his team’s performance, Carlisle had a rather unique way of describing their subpar night.
But best quote of night was from Rick Carlisle on Mavs sputtering offense: "We couldn't hit a bull in the ass with a bass fiddle."

Just saying the phrase “we couldn’t hit a bull’s ass with a bass fiddle” is weird enough as it is, but the even stranger part is that this is not the first time Carlisle has used that exact same quote. In fact, it appears to be his go-to saying when talking about poor shooting.
If you go back to October of 2015, Carlisle said the same thing about Dallas’ shooting woes in a game against the Clippers.
Rick Carlisle: "From a shooting standpoint, we couldn't hit a bull in the ass with a bass fiddle." #DALatLAC

And he said it in March of 2013.
Carlisle: "We struggled early…..partly because we couldn't hit a bull in the ass with a bass fiddle on offense" (I THINK he said that)

And even way back in 2010.
"In the third quarter, we had looks, but we couldn't hit a bull’s ass with a bass fiddle.’’ — Rick Carlisle #Mavs #NBA

Although this isn’t exactly that, he also used a weird animal analogy when asked in September about if signing DeAndre Jordan would have fixed the Mavericks rebounding issues.

Rick Carlisle: great at coaching basketball, even better at using expressions.
