Tyler Hansbrough Backs Down When He Sees Metta World Peace

Last night’s double overtime Raptors-Knicks preseason contest was supposed to be just a run-of-the-mill lead-up to the regular season. But Terrence Ross knocked down a huge 3-pointer in the first overtime, DeMar DeRozan threw down a sick dunk and now we’ve got a fun Vine video of Tyler Hansbrough realizing he’s about to get into it with Metta World Peace. That’s always a bad idea.

In the clip, Hansbrough misses a point blank shot, and when he tries to grab his own rebound, MWP swoops in to tie him up. Psycho T is about to get into it, but Metta stares him down. You can hear Walt “Clyde” Frazier announcing the game and talking about how there’s no love being lost between the two Atlantic Division rivals in preseason.

As you can tell, when Hansbrough sees the look on Metta’s face, it’s like he’s looking directly into the Eye of Sauron. All of Psycho T’s bluster wilts under MWP’s powerful gaze. Don’t mess with Metta.

If you read Hansbrough’s lips, he appears apologetic and says “my bad, man.” Yeah, we’d probably do the same thing if Queensbridge’s World Peace was giving us the stink eye on the court.
