Have you been feeling pangs for more Witcher-style slaying, drinking, and debauchery? Well, good news: the latest expansion for The Witcher III, entitled Blood and Wine isn’t far away.
Up until now, The Witcher III: Blood and Wine has remained somewhat mysterious, but CD Projekt Red have now revealed more via a series of screenshots. Blood and Wine sees Geralt traveling to the new land of Toussaint, a place that hasn’t been ravaged by war and dark magical forces like the rest of the Witcher world has. That said, there’s still might be something dangerous lurking beneath the facade.
So yeah, based on these screenshots, it looks like the premise of Blood and Wine is “Geralt slashes and humps his way through a whimsical fairy tale world, which might hide horrible Lovecraftian secrets.” That sounds like something I very much want to play.
According to CD Projekt Red, Toussaint is as big as the realms from the main game, and Blood and Wine should take at least 20 hours to play through. There’s no definite date for expansion yet, but CD Projekt Red are promising to deliver more information in May, and various leaks have pointed to a June 7 release.
