Snoop Lion is, of course, the reggae artist formerly known as Snoop Dogg. He’s also a huge gaming fan, as demonstrated by one of the nerdiest music videos ever created: A complete reskin of Pokemon right down to using nothing but sprite graphics.
Be warned that the video is… overly faithful to what it’s like to play Pokemon on a Game Boy. Nonetheless, though, this video is still pretty funny, especially when the fake Pokemon come in.
OK, so the song is… weird, coming from Snoop, but the video isn’t. Snoop’s shown a lot of interest in video games in the past, recording a song for Tekken Tag Tournament 2 to tie in with his own level and working on a GTA clone that ultimately never saw the light of day. Not to mention his mobile game. Come to think of it, it’s a little surprising he hasn’t done a Pokemon video until now. Hey, better late than never.
