That stay-at-home mom with the talking Chewbacca mask has certainly had a hell of a weekend. She posted the video on Thursday and by the next day, sat atop 20 million views to set a Facebook Live record. After the video hit its peak, the mask essentially sold out everywhere and Kohl’s showed their appreciation by sending her family a wide selection of Star Wars goodies. But that’s nothing compared to her Monday night.
James Corden invited Candace Payne onto The Late Late Show, where she not only got to sit around on national television but also got to meet a very special guest: The Force Awakens director J.J. Abrams. Pretty cool stuff.
And if that’s not enough, it turns out that Payne will be getting another special treat when the Dallas Fan Expo hits in two weeks. Peter Mayhew, the man behind Chewbacca since the original Star Wars, has set aside four VIP passes for Payne and will hold a private meet and greet. All for showing some pure joy while wearing a Chewbacca mask on Facebook.
Meanwhile, you’ve likely spent countless hours perfecting your movie quality Boba Fett armor and Temuera Morrison won’t even return your finely worded letters and phone calls. Sometimes life is funny.
