Turns out the general public are pretty into this Harley Quinn character — enough to turn the critically-derided Suicide Squad into a record-breaking hit. Unsurprisingly, Fox’s Gotham is getting in on the Harleymania, as producers recently announced a young version of The Joker’s lady friend would appear on the show.
Well, now they’re going a step further. In a recent interview, producer Ken Woodruff implied viewers may already be familiar with their version of Harley.
“You may have already seen Harley as a character that you thought you had met and known for a long time. So we always reserve the right to sort of do that as well.”
On top of that, Gotham Producer John Stephens let slip that their Harley would first be revealed “later in Season 3,” so we won’t be waiting too terribly long. Gotham’s new aged-up Poison Ivy, Maggie Geha also weighed in Harley’s imminent arrival…
“I would love, love, love, love to see Harley Quinn. In the comics she and Ivy and Harley Quinn are very close. In fact, I’m pretty sure in the comics they just formally announced that they’re girlfriends. Just as an actor I would love it for them to bring Harley Quinn onto the show. It would be so much fun for me.”
Okay, enough with the hard sell!
So, who could this already-been-seen Harley Quinn be? I’ll admit, I don’t have an encyclopedia of minor Gotham characters rattling around in my head. Is it Fish Mooney? Probably not, but I like typing the name Fish Mooney. Feel free to throw out your better ideas, below.
