Marvel/Disney
You’ve injected two seasons of Daredevil into your veins, scarfed down a run of Jessica Jones with an insatiable appetite for more and you’ve taken out your frustrations on your poor Garfield calendar because Luke Cage is still months away. Marvel’s had a pretty good run on Netflix and it’s always fun to fantasize about what other characters could make the leap to the small (streaming) screen.
ComicBook.com reports that a Silicon Valley Comic Con Q&A featured a question directed at Jeremy Renner about whether or not he’d be interested to shift Hawkeye over to Netflix for a Daredevil-esque series.
“I think that’s actually a really great model, if there’s ever a way to explore the character, maybe it’s in that world. These are things that are really not in my control, but I’d be open to it. I’ve really enjoyed getting to explore the character more recently. The Netflix model is where all the character drama goes to now, you’re doing a superhero movie or a Netflix or HBO kind of model. So I’d be open to it. Not up to me, though.”
We already have an Arrow TV series. I would much rather have a Maria Hill/Agent 13 show. One that ties directly with Jessica Jones, Daredevil and Luke Cage and is essentially the setup for the defenders
But Arrow is terrible.
It really isn’t.
Maybe Arrow isn’t terrible (never watched), but Jessica Jones wasn’t good.
Hawkguy and Pizza Dog would be the greatest thing ever. Just him protecting his tenants from tracksuited Russians.
Bro. That’s a great idea, bro.
It comes back…in the end.
real Hawkguy fans know what’s up
Introducing Kate and Pizza Dog to the MCU would be the best.
as long as they use the current run.
a hawkeye black widow sieres on netflix would be good, maybe fill in the blank time prior to avengers when he and she first met. and as this would be a pre movie setting, they could even get other people to play them, thus making it affordable
I would be fine with this. It would give more of a focus and he could be shown just how good he really is.
Hawkeye is a good shout for a TV show as the effects budget wouldn’t be stretched like it would for the more powered characters.
After it was revealed he has a family on a farm? No thanks.
yeah, that kind of ruins it in.
So this would have less action than Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D, right?
Hawkeye is a good deal for getting killed during the infinity war. Fuck this guy.
Hawkguy fans are called “Bros.”
Initially I would say no since Hawkeye does not seem interesting enough as a character on his own…but given how successful Marvel’s run on Netflix (and to a lesser degree on ABC), I am on the fence with more thought…
The real question is “Can Jeremy Renner carry a show by himself?” to which the answer is no
West Coast Avengers, yo.
I remember something about Marvel telling Adrianne Palicki that if she took the Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. television job she’d have to understand that she would never see the MCU as that character or any other because they didn’t want to cross over film and TV for one reason or another. If they downgraded Hawkeye to television he may never make it back up to film.
If I was to send someone down to TV it would be Ant-Man. Some kooky sitcom where he’d do things like get caught in a Walmart overnight in shrunken form.
He was made for the small screen …I’ll show myself out.
