The R-rated superhero flick Deadpool opened a lot of eyes in Hollywood at just who they should be targeting as an audience for some of these big, blockbuster films. The movie had a bit of a strange arc to its production before it was salvaged, completed and released to the public. 20th Century Fox took a risk by allowing the movie to be released in its more “mature” form, but that gamble paid off huge for them. Now, it’s the highest grossing R-rated movie ever.
The movie’s rating and content makes it the kind of film that perfectly pairs with kicking back with a cold beer. According to ComicBook, that’s exactly what a theater in Utah thought as they served alcohol during the film, only to find themselves facing a fine over it. Utah has some crazy restrictions when it comes to alcohol, and while this theater did have a liquor license to serve during films, one of Utah’s restrictions is that alcohol cannot be served while there is nudity or sexual acts displayed in the film. While no surprise coming from a state where liquor is intentionally watered down and the hard stuff can’t be purchased in quantities larger than those little bottles found on airplanes, but still a bummer none-the-less.
Thank god, they've found a way to legislate fun. https://t.co/vUSptxaHb9

The film’s star, Ryan Reynolds, caught wind of this and felt that it went against the very nature of a film like Deadpool. Reynolds has since donated $5,000 to a crowdfunding campaign looking to help out the theater in paying their fines and he did so without making any sort of grand proclamation, either. That’s a good dude and let’s hope that Deadpool 2 delivers for him.
