The Flash just isn’t happy with one speedster. It’s already been confirmed that Jay Garrick, the Golden Age Flash, is going to be Barry’s new mentor on The CW show, and it looks like he’ll also have a sidekick in season two.
The Mary Sue has found that the show has cast Keiynan Lonsdale as Wally West. Wally, in DC continuity, is generally Iris’ annoying nephew who happens to be in the right place in the right time to get superspeed. Of course, they likely won’t be doing that in the show, unless Joe and Iris have an estranged branch of the family they don’t speak to, and Cousin Oliv-er, cousin Wally just shows up on their doorstep with a duffel bag.
On the other hand, as somebody who grew up with Wally as the Flash, it’s nice to have him back in any capacity. Although this will make Arrow even harder to believe; if there are three speedsters around, surely Barry can spare one to clean out Starling City in one night, or at least stop the city’s annual open-air fistfight invitational. Or to team Jay or Wally up with Diggle, which is a spin-off we’d watch. Diggle and the Flash, CW. Think about it.
