DJ Khaled And Chance The Rapper Are On Pace To Score Their First-Ever No. 1 Hits

If the prognosticators are correct, by next week, DJ Khaled and Chance The Rapper could end up with their first number one hits on Billboard’s Hot 100 singles chart. According to the folks at the publication who keep track of the numbers, Khaled’s most recent track “I’m The One,” which features guest contributions from Chance, Justin Bieber, Lil Wayne and Quavo is projected to sell more than 150,000 downloads in the week ending on May 4. Once you add in the 40 million streams it’s acquired in that same time-period, as well as the 25 million it got from regular radio airplay, it’s almost a given that the song will come out on top.

For Chance, the distinction really would mean a lot. He actually took to Twitter to note the possibility and to remind his fans that YouTube streams count in toward the total.

The video for “I’m The One,” is as opulent, gaudy and grand as you might expect from someone who used a picture of themselves sitting on a throne next to a real life lion as the cover of one of their albums. All five artists dance and party around a gigantic mansion, surrounded by scantily clad women. At one point they even break it down in what looks like a hedge maze or something. You really should check it out up top.
