Logic Points To The Scoreboard On His New Track ‘Flexicution’

Logic caught a lot of flak for employing a lot of the same sounds and styles as Kendrick Lamar on his debut album Under Pressure. Thankfully, he was able to silence critics and naysayers alike with his well-received sophomore effort The Incredible True Story. On his celebratory new track “Flexicution,” a decidedly hyper Logic pounds his chest and brags about his recent success, pointing specifically to his recent Forbes list appearance.

And his success is well-earned. He showed great improvement from his debut to his sophomore effort, with a mostly in-house effort from his crew, did sold out shows, and made a bunch of money doing it. Still, the track does seem to have quite of bit of If You’re Reading This It’s Too Late era Drake’s DNA in it. Logic is very much his own man, but I wonder if his chameleon-like ability to try on other styles and flows, actually takes away from one of his greatest strengths here: his originality.

Either way, Logic is a still young talent on the rise. Catch him and G-Eazy on The Endless Summer Tour in a city near you. Hopefully, there’s more new music to come in the coming weeks and months in addition to sold out shows.
