Pusha T And Sia Want To Show Everyone That ‘Perfect Isn’t Pretty’

With the summer Games less than a month away, Gillette released its Olympic campaign song “Perfect Isn’t Pretty” featuring Sia and Pusha T. The original song was on Sia’s 2016 album, This Is Acting, but was remixed a bit for the ad. Ariel Rechtshaid, the architect of the remix, said he “picked chords to fit the visuals of the ad, put them in the key of the Sia song…and tweaked it from there to get it Olympic-ready.”

Billboard released a mini-doc to go with the song that lasts a little over a minute. During the interview, Pusha T spoke on success and how so many people see the end results without appreciating the work that was put in.

“People get to see the end results a lot and they think it was a beautiful ride,” Pusha T says, speaking in an “Unstoppable” mini-doc Billboard is also premiering . “They don’t even think about the steps it took to get to that final place.”

Rechtshaid echoed the same sentiment. He’s been making music since he was a teen and has only recently started to cross over into the mainstream. In piggybacking off of Push’s statements, Rechtshaid said he made music because he had to.

“It’s never been, it never will be about any sort of glamour… When I think of acting and music, there’s hard work, there’s an art form involved.”

After watching the video, you can check out the mini-doc below.
