John Candy Died 21 Years Ago Today: Remembering 10 of his Greatest Characters

21 years ago today, the already legendary comic actor John Candy, died of a heart attack while on the set of what would be his final film, “Wagon's East.”

Candy was only 43 years old when he died, but in two decades of performances on SCTV and in film, he left behind some of comedy's most memorable characters. It was nearly impossible not to laugh when Candy took on a role.  It's hard to believe he's been gone this long but here's a look back at some of the greatest gifts he left behind.
