Young actors, take note: if you're gonna be vying for the romantic lead, it's probably a good idea to brush up on your smooching skills.
At least that helped up-and-comer Luke Bracey (a.k.a. Johnny Utah in the upcoming “Point Break” remake) land the role of young Dawson Cole in “The Best of Me,” the latest Nicholas Sparks adaptation that centers on a pair of former high school sweethearts who rekindle their romance 20 years later.
“Well, this story has gotten around, so I might as well just put it out there,” said Bracey's co-star Liana Liberato (playing young Amanda Collier) when I asked what had sold her on her future love interest. “We read with a couple people, and Bracey was…one of them, and right after we did all of the chemistry reads…Michael Hoffman, our director, said 'So, who was the best kisser?' And I said, 'Luke, Luke Bracey.' And the next thing I know he got the part!”
Responded Bracey: “I don't know if that's more embarrassing for you or me!”
Oh, you kids. So adorable.
