We got our first substantial look at the Absolutely Fabulous movie today, and it looks like it'll be just as fantastically ridiculous as the British TV series. (Don't know what Ab Fab is? Apparently you weren't around back in Comedy Central's pre-South Park days, when the show was one of its biggest draws.)
Eddy and Patsy haven't changed much since the last time we saw them — they never do — and now they're on a mission to convince Kate Moss to become the newest client in Eddy's PR agency. They find her at a party talking to Jon Hamm (one of what promises to be many celebrity cameos, though some are more recognizable to American audiences than others) who is quickly dispatched by Patsy. That leaves Eddy to swoop in and win Moss over. Instead, she accidentally pushes her off a wall and into the Thames.
“How bad can this be?” Eddy wonders.
“You have killed Kate Moss,” her daughter, Saffron, responds.
On the run from a vengeful Stella McCartney and being “trollied on Twitter,” Eddy and Patsy escape to the south of France where, as Eddy says, “everyone's a criminal.”
Absolutely Fabulous: The Movie is coming to America on July 22.
