Taco Bell Is Giving Out Free Tacos Today Because They Lost A Bet

Does a Doritos Locos taco sound good to you right now? Great, go out and get one. Right now. Go. Because today, it’s on Taco Bell.

We somehow sensed this was going to happen back in May, when the company announced their “Steal a Game, Steal a Taco” promotion. The rules: If a team won (“stole”) a road game in the NBA Finals, Taco Bell would give everyone in America a free Doritos Locos taco.

As we all know, two teams stole road games: the Warriors, with their Game 4 win, and the Cavs, with Game 7 (watch this block, any time you get sad). Basically, Taco Bell learned the same lesson as the rest of the country: LeBron James is the ultimate warrior.

No, this doesn’t mean you get two free tacos, unless you plan on driving from Taco Bell to Taco Bell. But one free taco is better than no free tacos, especially if the outside is coated in Doritos dust. To claim your taco, pop into any participating Taco Bell between 2 and 6 p.m. today. And thank your lucky stars that Taco Bell keeps making terrible bets on sports outcomes.
