The world is gripped with Pokemon Go madness, as stampedes are occurring and people are even quitting their jobs to play full time. However, there is one quest that predates the search for Vaporean: man’s never ending quest to get laid. While Pokemon Go is good at getting people off the couch and outside meeting other players (sometimes in not so pleasant ways), so a new app decided to capitalize on that and maybe get some people a few dates. At this point, Pokemon Go is officially bigger than Tinder, but Pokematch is looking to give players the best of both apps.
Pokematch has users swiping just like Tinder, but has compatible players meet up at Pokestops to catch ’em all together if they feel that spark. In a press release, app creators Pim de Witte and Rene Roosen claim they were inspired by their own conflicting desires to play and date.
“The goal is that people to create meaningful dates, not just hook-ups,” Roosen said in a press release. “We think that a Pokemon Go date is the perfect opportunity for that.”
Ok, so it isn’t exactly like Tinder. For the time being, Pokematch is only available to Android users, but there is a waitlist for the pending iOS option. As you navigate your new life as a Pokemon trainer and a potential new relationship, remember:
